Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club
In 2013 we were selected by Signal Mountain Golf & Country Club to renovate their third and seventeenth holes. I first played golf on the course as a child and have since completed countless rounds there. As a result, I am very fond of the layout and believe that it is a unique and special course with tremendous potential.
Pat Rose, the golf superintendent, deserves all of the credit for making the proposed renovation a reality. Pat first contacted us to consult on the bunkers at the course, which are a maintenance nightmare due to poor construction techniques. Washouts are overly commonplace and drainage is inadequate or non-existent in all of the bunkers. Pat was able to fund the entire project under his existing budget, and Tad and I were pleased to work with him to limit cost, while still working to deliver elite quality and artistry in the finished product.
In 2016, we were asked to create a master plan for the golf course, which addresses playability, maintenance, and operations. Please review the attached booklet, which includes explanatory notes for each golf hole.
