The site for Ralston’s course, named Red Feather, was a flat, 135-acre cotton field 12 miles south of downtown Lubbock, Texas. Ralston, who has invested $5 million of his own money into the project, and his partners originally earmarked the site for a residential neighborhood, but since it was part of a floodplain, the decision to switch to a golf course was made.
